A 2D 8-bit top-down space game from NovaSynth Labs. You pilot a single independent ship — human or Alaradi — through a vast foreign galaxy that does not revolve around you.
What Far Drift is
There are over 15,000 star systems. Empires war over contested worlds while mostly leaving the player alone unless they get involved. You can explore, trade, take jobs, dock at stations, investigate derelicts, use jump gates, buy ships, and eventually build up to six of your own stations.
Time dilation is a core feature: travel inside systems costs days, hyperdrive jumps cost months, and long FTL jumps can cost years or centuries. Zero-Space is unique. Later in the story, an ancient cyclical swarm called the Locus begins to stir at the centre of the galaxy.
Status
Far Drift is in development. A demo will be available on Steam. A release date has not been announced.
